India vs West Indies Test Series 2025 Squad Announcement Live Updates: Shubman Gill’s Test captaincy career got off to a great start with a deserved 2-2 drawn series in England. However, now he faces a completely different but arguably equally difficult challenge, as India hosts the West Indies for a two-match Test series, with games in Ahmedabad and New Delhi, starting from October 2.
This will be India’s second series in the new, 2025-27 World Test Championship Cycle (WTC). The hosts are currently third in the table and a good series against the sixth placed West Indies team (no wins in three Tests) could help them begin their climb towards the top-two. However, it’s also India’s first series since being washed out 3-0 at home by New Zealand and thus, they can’t get their selection choices wrong for this one.
There are too many moving parts. Which players can/should be rested? Which players might not make a cut? We’ll bring you all the answers here as the Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee decides on the 15-man squad, alongside probable reserves.
