GST Cut On Milk, Butter, Paneer: The government has reduced the Goods and Services Tax (GST) on milk and dairy products. This decision was made during the 56th GST Council meeting held on September 3, 2025. In alignment with the lower GST, packaged milk brands, including Amul and Mother Dairy, have announced to pass on the benefits to customers by reducing prices on most of the products.
The government’s decision to remove GST on packaged milk is primarily to ensure that families across the country can access quality milk at lower prices. By cutting tax on an essential commodity, the benefit is expected to be passed on quickly to end customers.
