In the third and final T20I of the ongoing three-match series between Namibia and Zimbabwe in Bulawayo, Frylinck crossed the 50-run mark in just 13 balls.

Namibia opener Jan Frylinck entered his name in the history books on Thursday, September 18, by scoring the joint third-fastest half-century in T20Is. In the third T20I of the ongoing three-match series between Namibia and Zimbabwe at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo, Jan opened the innings for Namibia and crossed the 50-run mark in just 13 balls.

The overall record of scoring the fastest 50 in T20Is is in the name of Nepal batter Dipendra Singh Airee. Airee crossed the 50-run mark in just nine balls for Nepal against Mongolia in Hangzhou on September 27, 2023.

India’s Yuvraj Singh is second on the list. During the 2007 India-England T20 World Cup match played in Durban on September 19, Yuvraj completed his half-century in just 12 balls.

A total of four batters – Mirza Ahsan (Austria), Muhammad Fahad (Turkey), Tadiwanashe Marumani (Zimbabwe) and Frylinck (Namibia) – have completed their half-century in 13 balls.

Frylinck scored a total of 77 runs from 31 balls for Namibia in the third T20I and during his stay at the crease hammered 8 fours and 6 sixes. He added 74 runs for the first wicket with Louren Steenkamp (14 runs) in 4.6 overs.

Frylinck’s super show with the bat helped Namibia post a total of 204 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs.

For Namibia, Ruben Trumpelmann also impressed with his batting on Thursday. Trumpelmann came out to bat at No. 7 and, with the help of three fours and four sixes, scored 46 runs from 24 balls.

For Zimbabwe, captain Sikandar Raza bowled four overs and picked up three wickets for 25 runs, whereas one Zimbabwe batter each was sent back to the pavilion by Wellington Masakadza, Blessing Muzarabani and Tinotenda Maposa.
