India ODI captain Rohit Sharma is busy training with young Mumbai boys at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. After retiring from T20Is and Tests, the 38-year-old is focusing solely on the 50-over format and will possibly fly to Australia in mid-October.

Rohit has begun sweating it out in the nets, and his companions are young batter Ayush Mhatre, who idolises the Indian stalwart, and Sarfaraz Khan. Both Sarafaraz and Ayush even clicked pictures with Rohit and shared them on their social media handles.

While Sarfaraz was seen sharing insights with Rohit in the nets, Ayush received a bat from the HITMAN.

Back in June, the teenage batting sensation from Mumbai received another bat from Rohit before India’s Under-19 tour of England. Ayush Mhatre took to Instagram and posted a picture of himself along with Rohit Sharma with a caption, “A bat, a blessing, and a memory of a lifetime — thank you Rohit da.”

Rohit gearing up for the Australia Tour

Rohit is likely to play the 3-match ODI against Australia next month. He has resumed training and keeps posting videos on social media.

It was reported a couple of weeks back by the Hindustan Times that, ahead of travelling to Australia for a three-match ODI series in October 2025, Rohit and Virat will play for the India A team in the three matches against the Australia A side. However, they were not named in the squad announced by the BCCI on Sunday.

The first ODI between India and Australia is scheduled to take place at Optus Stadium in Perth on October 19, and the next two matches will be played on October 23 and 25 in Adelaide and Sydney, respectively.
