Tecno’s new slim pova 5G phone has launched
Tecno has launched its first sleek smartphone in the market called Pova Slim 5G that will be available from next week. The trend for ultra-thin phones has started with Samsung, and Apple is widely tipped to join the ranks with the iPhone 17 Air later this month. But Tecno has beaten the Cupertino-based giant with its own Slim phone in the Indian market.
The new device tries to go beyond its aesthetics by using a MediaTek chipset, offer it with in-built AI features and a voice assistant and also manage to pack a big battery for a sleek device.
Tecno Pova Slim 5G Price In India
Tecno Pova Slim 5G is priced in India at Rs 19,999 which gets you the single 8GB + 128GB variant. Tecno will start selling the phone from September 8 in the country.
Tecno Pova Slim 5G Specifications: Just Slim?
Tecno claims this is the slimmest phone to feature a 3D curved display. It measures at 5.95mm in thickness, not the thinnest we have seen this year. Having said that, the brand is offering a much bigger 5,160mAh battery with the use of the silicon carbon battery tech. That also allows Tecno to give you a device that weighs just 156 grams. The phone also gets MIL-STD military standard for durability, while the Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protects the screen.
The design of the phone at the back will also appeal to you with its eye-like camera module that lights up for notifications. You get a 50MP primary sensor along with a 2MP depth sensor.
The Pova Slim 5G is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset with 8GB RAM and further 8GB available with memory expansion. It sports a 6.78-inch 3D curved AMOLED panel that offers 144Hz refresh rate along with 4,500 nits of peak brightness.
The brand gives you Android 15 out of the box, and the phone is only getting more OS upgrades along with 2 years of security updates. This means, the last update will be the latest Android 16 version for the Pova Slim 5G.
