Microsoft has looked into the issues of SSD going corrupt
Microsoft faced complaints about SSD storage issues after a recent Windows 11 update was released for PC users. These people said the SSD storage on their PCs was unusable after installing the new update that came out from the company.
Microsoft did assure that it will investigate the complaints and run its own internal tests to replicate the issue because of the Windows 11 version or any other component that stops working after getting the new update. And now the company has clarified the situation and offered strong support to say that the Windows 11 update did not exactly corrupt the SSDs of Windows PC users.
Windows PCs Not Affected
Microsoft has reportedly done its tests and has seen no scope for the Windows 11 update to cause such a big damage. “After thorough investigation, Microsoft has found no connection between the August 2025 Windows security update and the types of hard drive failures reported on social media,” the company’s statement quoted by BleepingComputer.
While the company assured the Windows 11 update did not result in corrupting the SSDs of PCs, it could not give more clarity on the issue or what exactly caused such a damage. The interesting part about the SSD saga is that the company’s official support teams have not received complaints about the issue, and most of the reporting has been done via social media, which is useful but not clearly the end to all means.
In addition to Microsoft, the company sourcing the storage parts, Phison also came out with the same conclusion and did not see any of its partners seeing their SSDs going kaput because of an update. In fact, the company suggests users should be aware of using the PC storage more effectively and not over run it. We do hope that Microsoft looks into the issues and tries its best to fix the problem faced by Windows PC users.
