Apple welcomed its first customers today at the newly opened Apple Hebbal in Bengaluru, marking the store’s official debut.

The US-based tech giant Apple on Tuesday opened its first own-branded retail store in Bengaluru, Apple Hebbal.

The new outlet joins the company’s flagship stores — Apple BKC in Mumbai and Apple Saket in New Delhi — just days before the much-awaited iPhone 17 series debut.

Apple Hebbal opened at Phoenix Mall of Asia, Bellary Road, Byatarayanapura, Bengaluru (F-39-F-43, 560092). The store’s barricade featured vibrant peacock feather artwork — a nod to India’s national bird and a symbol of pride.

This is also Apple’s first store in South India, and it promises to deliver a premium shopping and support experience tailored to the city’s vibrant, tech-savvy crowd.

“We can’t wait to connect with people here and inspire them to create, collaborate, and do amazing things with Apple,” said Deirdre O’Brien, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Retail and People.

The new store occupies 8,000 sq ft, smaller than the 20,800 sq ft Apple BKC in Mumbai but comparable in size to Apple Saket in Delhi’s Select Citywalk Mall, which opened alongside the Mumbai store in 2023.

People flocked to the store hoping to be among the first to enter, in an opening event.

Apple’s Bengaluru opening marks part of a broader retail expansion in India. The company has plans for four new stores across Bengaluru, Pune, Delhi-NCR and Mumbai. While Apple has confirmed the Bengaluru launch, it has yet to announce timelines for the other outlets.

Reports also suggest that Apple has leased space at Oberoi Sky City Mall in Borivali, Mumbai, which is likely to become the company’s second store in the city.

Meanwhile, Apple India has leased around 2.7 lakh square feet of office space in Bangalore for 10 years with a starting monthly rent of Rs 6.3 crore, according to data analytics firm Propstack. The company has taken multiple floors including car parking space on lease from real estate firm Embassy Group.

The iPhone maker is estimated to pay more than Rs 1,000 crore in rent, car park and maintenance charge over a period of 10 years, as per Propstack, which has reviewed the registration document of this leasing transaction.
