The ideal time for planting guava is between July and September, when climatic conditions are most favourable for root development. According to experts, a simple pot or even an empty bucket can serve as a suitable container for cultivation at home. (News18 Hindi)

Before planting, the container should be cleaned thoroughly and filled with sandy loam soil. For those preparing soil mixtures at home, adding coco peat, neem bark, and organic manure is recommended to enhance fertility and nutrient content. (News18 Hindi)

Guava can be propagated either from seeds or cuttings. Experts suggest using cuttings from mature guava trees, as they take root within five to seven days, grow compactly, and begin bearing fruit earlier. Seeds may also be sown directly in pots and placed in sunlight. (News18 Hindi)

Moisture and sunlight are critical for early growth. The plant should be kept in a location that receives at least six to seven hours of direct sunlight daily. While young plants require frequent watering, the amount can be gradually reduced as the plant matures. (News18 Hindi)

To support healthy growth, natural fertilisers such as cow dung and crushed eggshells can be used. Experts note that guava grows best in sandy soil as it needs less water. Even regions with moderate rainfall of around 100 cm annually are suitable for guava cultivation. (News18 Hindi)
