India accounted for less than 2 per cent of Japan’s garment imports in January–June 2025, with shipments worth $171.4 million, up 13 per cent year-on-year.
Despite growth, India retained ninth rank among suppliers, as Japan imported apparel worth $11.4 billion in the period.
India fared better in home textiles, supplying $46.6 million (2.27 per cent), while ranking tenth in fabrics at $10.2 million.
