The security risks are ramping up and the latest one is relatable for thousands of businesses who use Microsoft services for their daily work. The Indian government has raised this alert earlier this week, and the warning is linked to a host of Microsoft products like Edge browser, Windows Server and even the Azure business.

The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team or CERT-In has issued the alert which says the Microsoft web browser along with other enterprise products face multiple security vulnerabilities that could allow an attacker to bypass the security of your device and give them access to the data stored on it.

Microsoft Warning For Businesses

The security agency has been informed about the issues and shared its own understanding of the risks and what it can do to the targeted entities. “Multiple vulnerabilities exist in multiple Microsoft product components including Edge, Windows Server Storage, Certificates, MBT Transport driver, PC Manager, and Azure Databricks.”

The simpler way of talking about the danger is that any individual or business using the following Microsoft products should adhere to possible intrusion and keep a check on the employees who use the systems.

  • Microsoft Edge (Chromium-based)
  • Windows Server (Storage component)
  • Windows Certificates component
  • Windows MBT Transport driver
  • Microsoft PC Manager
  • Azure Databricks

Most of you might not be familiar with all the products, except for Edge which is Microsoft’s Chrome rival in the market and comes pre-installed on all Windows 11 PCs. If the hackers manage to exploit the issues with these products, businesses could face ransomware attacks or remote control of systems to steal data and more.

Microsoft has identified the issues and the fix is available for all these products, including Edge. You can head over to Microsoft Edge on your Windows PC and do the following:

  • Click on the three-dot menu on the top-right
  • Hover over Help and Feedback
  • Click on About Microsoft Edge

Windows 10 end of support deadline is getting closer and most companies should either upgrade or at least invest in the premium security plan that will work for one year.
