A former Google and JioHotstar executive,  Sajith Sivanandan, has been appointed as chief executive officer (CEO) of Tata Digital, according to Moneycontrol report. He will take charge on September 01, marking the third leadership change within 2 years.

He was associated with Jio Mobile Digital Services, a Reliance Industries subsidiary. He completed his MBA in Finance from the Asian Institute of Management and history honours from Hindu College, Delhi University.

Pratik Pal, the founding CEO who launched Tata Neu, stepped down in February 2024. He was succeeded by Naveen Tahilyani, who resigned in May 2025 after just 15 months in the role to take up an international position at Prudential Plc.

Tata Digital is a subsidiary of the Tata Group, established in 2019 to spearhead the conglomerate’s digital transformation and build consumer-centric digital businesses.

Sajith Sivanandan’s Prior Experience

Sajith Sivanandan is an experienced technology executive and business leader with a strong track record of building and scaling digital businesses across India and the APAC region. Currently, he serves as President of Jio Mobile Digital Services at Jio Platforms Limited, where he focuses on creating large-scale digital services powered by AI. Before this, he was the CEO of Disney+ Hotstar, overseeing India’s largest subscription-based video-on-demand platform and leading its strategy, growth, product development, and P&L management. He has extensive experience managing cross-functional teams spanning product, engineering, marketing, analytics, content, and operations.

Prior to Disney+ Hotstar, Sajith spent over 15 years at Google, where he held multiple leadership roles, including Managing Director of Google Pay and Next Billion User Initiatives across India and APAC. He played a pivotal role in scaling digital payments in India, navigating complex regulatory landscapes, and building high-performing teams. He also led Google’s expansion in Southeast Asia, founding operations in Malaysia and driving growth across emerging markets.

Sajith’s career began in consulting and media, with roles at Gallup, Affle UK, and Star TV, where he developed expertise in business development, strategic partnerships, and market expansion. Alongside his executive roles, he is a member of XA Network, a technology leaders’ investment network supporting startups in Southeast Asia. Known for his strategic vision and ability to scale businesses, Sajith has consistently combined operational excellence with innovation to drive growth in highly competitive markets.
