The Chief Minister also acknowledged the significant contribution of Kerala’s airports to the tourism sector and to the welfare of the state’s large diaspora community. He lauded CIAL for its pioneering role, stating that it has “set a public-friendly model in the aviation industry by embracing technological changes and creating over 30,000 job opportunities.”
Highlighting Kerala’s strategic advantage and growing infrastructure, Vijayan said the state is well-positioned to evolve into a major civil aviation hub. “Strengthening air transport will attract more tourists,” he added, stressing the need for increased investment and innovation in the sector.
The summit aims to harness Kerala’s aviation infrastructure and explore its potential as a global aviation and logistics hub. Key objectives include bolstering regional air connectivity, attracting investment, and promoting sustainable development within the industry.
Industries Minister P Rajeev presided over the event, which is scheduled to conclude on Sunday.
