Gemini AI update will be coming to both new and existing Google smart speakers but will the company bring a paid version?

Gemini coming to smart speaker was inevitable.
Gemini is coming to all kinds of devices but there has been silence around its availability on the most obvious platform, smart speakers. Google has now shared some updates regarding the Gemini AI assistant working on its smart speakers and we could see the first phase of that integration in the next few months.
The company even had a product demo during the Pixel 10 launch event earlier this week, where we got a glimpse of an unreleased speaker from the brand, powered by the AI assistant. Google is calling it Gemini for Home and it will be replacing the current Google Assistant platform on a slew of devices.
Gemini On Smart Speaker Makes Sense
Gemini will bring its personal and contextual search responses on the speaker platform. Many have used the devices to control hands-free with Google Assistant voice commands, and with Gemini, these queries can be more detailed and the reasoning on offer will be as accurate as they come.
For instance, if you want to turn off the lights in a particular area, you can do that with Gemini and the home integration should enable it to act on your command.
Having Gemini on Nest speakers was inevitable and Google will be competing with Amazon’s Alexa and hopefully Apple Siri (when it comes) in this segment. The company could have a new product to ship Gemini from day one, while other existing Nest and Home units could get their taste of the AI model around October this year.
This will be in the early access mode, and compatible with Nest Hub, Nest Audio and Nest Mini smart speakers. The most intriguing part of Google’s show was its focus on having both free and paid versions of Gemini for the smart speakers, something that Alexa Plus offers from Amazon in select regions.
Google Pixel 10 series has launched, along with the new Pixel Watch 4, Pixel Buds 2a and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold model. The Pixel 10 price in India starts at Rs 79,999 for the base 256GB model.
