Apple TV+ has got three price hikes in as many years.
Apple TV+ subscription prices have gone up once again. The company is making the new changes in select countries who will be extra on their monthly expenses to watch content and movies on Apple’s streaming platform. This is the third price hike for Apple TV+ in the last few years, which clearly hints at Apple looking to make more from its services as the device sales have gone down in most regions for the company.
The Apple TV+ monthly price is applicable for people in the US and other markets where the service is available.
Apple TV+ Price Hike: What Apple Charges You
Apple TV+ subscription now costs $12.99 (Rs 1,100 approx) per month for users in the US and other affected regions. Anybody signing up for Apple TV+ will be paying the new charges while the existing ones will be asked to pay more from next month when their plan ends.
The new prices are only applicable for the monthly plans, while the annual and the Apple One bundled versions have not been revised. The other good news is that people in India continue to pay Rs 99 per month to stream Apple TV+ content on their big screens and other devices.
Apple TV+ Price Changes: Why Again?
Reports say Apple is making these repeated price hikes justifying its call for not having ads on the platform and also spending big money to bring high-quality content that seems to be winning the awards.
Apple has finally launched the Apple TV+ app for Android users across the globe. The app is available on the Play Store and will allow the company to increase its reach and user base with this launch. The Android version of Apple TV+ allows you to subscribe to the service via the Play Store payment model using their Google account which was not possible till date.
The Apple TV App serves as a hub for entertaining content, including Apple TV+ exclusive shows, movies and documentaries. It stands as a healthy competitor to other streaming giants like Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime.
Apple TV+ allows users to share their subscription with up to five family members. At present, the Apple TV+ is available on Amazon Fire Stick, PlayStation, Xbox, XInfinity, Google TV, Samsung Smart TV, LG Smart TV, Roku and more. Users can also watch the exclusive Apple TV+ content on the desktop site at tv.apple.com/in.
