iOS 26 beta update is adding a new design, some new AI upgrades and also a battery-saving method for select iPhone models.

Apple’s new AI feature promises to extend the battery life of your iPhone
Apple’s new AI-powered battery feature is getting more tools with the latest iOS 26 beta update that is available for select iPhone models. The new battery feature was previewed at the WWDC 2025 earlier this year and Apple introduced the tool with the first iOS 26 beta updates and now even the public beta version has it in full glory.
As the name suggests, adaptive power is allowing you to get more from the iPhone battery rather than hunting for the charger to juice up the device before the day ends. We mostly heard about this feature but didn’t actually get to use or experience it before which has changed with the iOS 26 public beta updates.
iOS 26 Beta Gets Adaptive Power: What It Offers
Adaptive power is part of the battery settings for iPhones that support AI features. This means the new tool is available if you have the iPhone 15 Pro or later models. The company claims the new battery feature can make ‘small performance adjustments’ to give you longer battery life.
These changes include reducing the display brightness which does help increase the life, as well as delaying some of the activities to run on the device. This is what the Adaptive Power description tells you with the iOS 26 beta update.
We’re not sure why Apple needs AI to use the new Adaptive power feature but it is likely that the intuitive reading to study the battery usage needs more than regular software tweaks. The new feature is disabled by default and you can use it with these steps:
- Install the latest iOS 26 beta update
- Go to Settings on your iPhone 15 Pro or higher model
- Tap on Battery
- Scroll down to Power Mode and tap on it
- Enable Adaptive Power and Power notifications for the iPhone
- Once the iPhone’s battery touches 20 percent the low power mode will be enabled.
When your iPhone is on the low power mode, the device will see background activities reduced, the processing speed comes down, and features like 5G, iCloud sync and more will see lower impact.
These iOS 26 beta updates are rolling out fast, right in time for Apple to announce the iPhone 17 series next month, and share the iOS 26 public release details.
