The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation has launched the new 100-metre foot overbridge connecting the CSMIA–T2 Metro Station on Metro Line 3 to Terminal 2. This foot overbridge allows passengers to bypass road traffic and walk directly from the Metro station to the airport’s check-in area. Metro Line 3 or the Aqua Line is the first fully underground metro route in Mumbai.
The bridge, built 23 meters above ground with structural steel, links Lift Entry/Exit A1 of the Metro station directly to the terminal building.
The structure is 4.3 meters wide and 3 meters tall, and it lies above the ongoing work on Metro Line 7A.
In a post on X, the MMRDA wrote, “Good news for flyers! No more rushing through traffic before your flight! Now, from #CSMIA-T2 Metro Station – Airport Terminal-2 in just a few steps. The newly built 100-meter Foot Over Bridge, constructed by #MMRDA, connects Lift Entry/Exit A1 at ground level straight to the terminal. Fast, easy and convenient for all commuters!”
Thanking MMRDA for building the bridge, Ashwini Bhide, the Managing Director of
Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL), stated that it provides ‘much-needed last-mile connectivity to Mumbai Airport from the Metro station.
“100 mtr long FOB to #CSMIAirport T2 from underground #Metro3 station is opened today for the commuters. Thank you @MMRDAOfficial for providing the FOB on our request,” she wrote on X.

According to MMRDA, the walk to the airport has been shortened from 450 to 118 metres. Passengers can now avoid walking through congested traffic to reach the airport, which is significantly safer and more convenient for passengers.
A new Foot Over Bridge (FOB) now connects the underground CSMIA Metro Station (Line 3) directly to Terminal 2 of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, making travel smoother, faster, and safer.
