This new Google Flights feature could snag you the cheapest fare

Google on Thursday (August 8) introduced Flight Deals, a new AI-powered search feature within Google Flights aimed at helping travellers find the cheapest fares without manually adjusting dates, destinations, or filters.

According to a company blog post, Flight Deals lets users describe their ideal trip in natural language — for example, “week-long trip this winter to a city with great food, nonstop only” or “10-day ski trip to a world-class resort with fresh powder” — and instantly returns matching bargains.

The tool uses Google’s AI to interpret the request and combines it with real-time Google Flights data from hundreds of airlines and booking sites.
How to use Google Flight Deals

  • Go to Google Flights: Visit the Google Flights website or app.
  • Access Flight Deals: Select Flight Deals from the top-left menu, or go directly to the Flight Deals page.
  • Type Your Trip in Plain Language: For example: “Long weekend in October to a beach destination under $300” or “four-day hiking trip to a national park with scenic views.”
  • View AI-Generated Results: Google’s AI will interpret your request and show matching destinations and fares from hundreds of airlines and booking sites.
  • Refine if Needed: Adjust preferences like airlines, stops, or price to fine-tune your search.

The service is launching in beta in the US, Canada, and India over the next week, with no opt-in required.

Google said the original Google Flights will remain available, with a new feature coming soon to exclude basic economy fares on US and Canada trips.
