Arjun Tendulkar, son of legendary India captain Sachin Tendulkar, has reportedly got engaged to Saaniya Chandhok, granddaughter of noted Mumbai businessman Ravi Ghai.
However, neither the Tendulkars nor the Ghai family has confirmed the engagement, the report further stated.
According to India Today, the celebration was an intimate one, attended by close friends and family. Arjun, 25, is a left-arm fast-bowling all-rounder who plays for Goa in domestic cricket and has also turned out for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL. Saaniya, from one of Mumbai’s most prominent business families, prefers to stay away from the limelight.
The report further stated that Saaniya Chandok is a Designated Partner and Director at Mr. Paws Pet Spa & Store LLP, based in Mumbai.
The Ghai family is well-known in the hospitality and food world and owns the InterContinental hotel and the popular ice cream brand Brooklyn Creamery. Their engagement celebration was a warm, intimate gathering with only close friends and family present.
Arjun Tendulkar has been steadily shaping his cricketing journey. He currently represents Goa in domestic cricket and was a part of the Mumbai Indians squad in the Indian Premier League 2025. His professional career began with Mumbai during the 2020/21 domestic season, debuting in a T20 clash against Haryana. Before breaking into senior cricket, he had already represented Mumbai at the junior level and was also part of the India U19 team.
Seeking more opportunities, Arjun made a move to Goa for the 2022/23 season. It saw him make both his First-Class and List A debuts. In red-ball cricket so far, he has appeared in 17 matches, compiling 532 runs, which include one century and two fifties, and collecting 37 wickets. His bowling feats feature a five-wicket haul and two instances of four wickets in an innings. In List A cricket for Goa, he has featured in 17 matches, scoring 76 runs from nine innings.
In the IPL, Arjun’s stint with the Mumbai Indians spans five matches. Across 73 deliveries bowled, he has taken three wickets at an average of 38.00, with best figures of 1/9. His economy rate stands at 9.36, while his strike rate is 24.3. He has yet to register a four- or five-wicket haul in the tournament. Batting chances have been few, but he has scored 13 runs from nine balls, striking at 144.44, with 13 as his highest score.
