Covering an eight-kilometre trail, the Charavane trek will take participants through dense forests, babbling streams, and varying terrain that includes both steep inclines and slippery rock surfaces. Designed as a moderately challenging route, the trek is ideal for adventure enthusiasts, photographers, and nature lovers looking to explore Goa’s lesser-known wilderness. The initiative is being held in collaboration with the Forest Department, Government of Goa, and the Goa Forest Development Corporation.
To facilitate participation from across the state, the GTDC has arranged transport from key locations. Buses will depart from Margao Residency and Mapusa Residency at 7.30 am, and from Paryatan Bhavan in Patto at 8.30 am. Additional pick-up points include Birla Junction (Verna), Cortalim, Porvorim, Banasthari, and Honda.

Registration for the trek costs ₹1,400 per person, inclusive of all taxes. This cost includes transportation, breakfast, lunch, and support of professional nature guides who will accompany the group throughout the journey.
Participants are encouraged to bring rainwear, a change of clothes, suitable trekking shoes, snacks, and binoculars for birdwatching. Smoking and alcohol are strictly prohibited during the trek, and the activity is not advised for individuals with limited physical fitness due to the demanding nature of the terrain.

Recently, Tourism Goa held the Chikhal Kalo, the traditional Goan festival that involves playful mud rituals and games, symbolising the childhood leelas of Lord Krishna. Goa Tourism, under its Regenerative Tourism initiative, continues to support events that promote local culture and encourage community participation. The involvement of people across age groups and the growing interest among visitors and online audiences point to a continued interest in authentic cultural experiences.
