A spokesperson from Goa’s Department of Tourism confirmed the accolade, highlighting the response to the state’s presence at the fair. “The Goa Tourism stall saw remarkable footfalls. A steady stream of trade visitors, industry leaders, travel enthusiasts, and representatives engaged deeply with the offerings presented, resulting in a significant number of inquiries about travel packages and Goa’s latest tourism initiatives,” the official said.
The award acknowledged Goa’s evolving tourism model, which focuses on community engagement, cultural preservation, and environmental restoration. “Goa got Best Destination for Regenerative Tourism Award in recognition of its evolving and future-forward approach to tourism,” the spokesperson added.

Kedar Naik, Director of Tourism, highlighted the growing interest in sustainable travel: “We had engaging discussions with both trade and general visitors who showed genuine curiosity about Goa’s lesser-known offerings. It was encouraging to see the resonance of regenerative tourism principles and the willingness to explore Goa beyond its coastline.”
Deputy Director of Tourism, Dhiraj Wagle, said the honour showcases the state’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable experiences. “Our participation at TTF Kolkata 2025 reflects how Goa is positioning itself not just as a destination, but as a way of life built on harmony between people, culture and nature. The highlight of the pavilion was the strong interest shown by visitors in Goa’s Regenerative Tourism approach.”
Wagle explained that many attendees were eager to understand the concept of regenerative tourism, which extends beyond sustainability to actively “restore, revive, and empower the environment and local communities.”
Among the standout initiatives that captivated visitors were the ‘Goa Beyond Beaches’ campaign, showcasing the state’s unexplored hinterland; the spiritually immersive Ekadasha Teertha circuit; and the monsoon-themed ‘Glow On Arrival’ campaign, promoting Goa as a rejuvenating destination during the rainy season.
