According to the latest report by OAG, Asian routes dominate the list of the world’s busiest international airline corridors in 2025. Seven of the world’s top 10 busiest international routes in July 2025 are in the Asia Pacific region.

Topping the chart is the Hong Kong – Taipei corridor, which remains a popular choice and has emerged as the world’s busiest international airline route. It offers 5.81 lakh seats per month. Cairo – Jeddah holds its position at second, with a monthly capacity of 4.91 lakh seats, a 5 per cent capacity increase compared to last year. This corridor is a key link for religious tourism, especially for pilgrims heading to Saudi Arabia for Umrah and Hajj.(Image: Reuters)

As compared to 2024, Kuala Lumpur – Singapore Changi has climbed to the third spot from fourth, now offering 4.84 lakh seats and a year-on-year growth of 4 percent. Both Singapore and Kuala Lumpur are significant aviation hubs with a wide range of airline connections to locations throughout East Asia and the Pacific. (Image: Reuters)

This is then followed by Seoul Incheon – Tokyo Narita and Seoul Incheon – Osaka Kansai with 4.26 lakh and 4.17 lakh seats respectively.

The sixth position is held by Jakarta – Singapore Changi corridor, which moved up from the eighth position, offering 3.95 lakh seats and growing 18 percent year on year. As key business hubs, this corridor sees cross-border corporate travel.

A new entrant on the list is the Osaka Kansai – Shanghai Pudong route, debuting at seventh place with 3.89 lakh seats. This led to the removal of Bangkok – Singapore route from the top 10 list. (Image: Reuters)

The Dubai – Riyadh route comes in eighth with 3.77 lakh monthly seats, as it is a hub for business travellers. It is then followed by New York JFK – London Heathrow and Bangkok – Hong Kong routes with 3.66 lakh seats and 3.52 lakh seats respectively. (Image: Canva)
