India were 204 for six at close of play on a rain-affected opening day of the fifth and final Test. Karun Nair and Washington Sundar were batting on 52 and 19 respectively as 64 overs were possible.
It was a balanced day as England found a lot of help for pacers Gus Atkinson and Josh Tongue. The English have been dealt with a severe blow, though, with ace bowler Chris Woakes likely to have dislocated his shoulder, which could rule him out of the remainder of the game.
