WhatsApp chats disappear after 24 hours so that nobody else can read it. But soon you will have more options and less time to remove them.

WhatsApp is trying out new options for chats to go away
WhatsApp is changing the power of using a feature that removes all the chats from your feed. The messaging app is now testing its ‘disappearing chats’ feature to work for much less than 24 hours, and as early as one hour.
Yes, these changes are being tested in the WhatsApp Android beta version recently and it seems the company could have them available for everyone in the coming months. This is a privacy feature that ensures that important texts are sent, seen and then removed from the app that even WhatsApp cannot retrieve.
WhatsApp ‘Disappearing Chat’s Update: Less Time Coming
WhatsApp is testing the new option in the beta version, as spotted by WaBetaInfo in its latest report. The existing timeline for chats to disappear on WhatsApp are 24 hours, 7 days (one week) or 90 days.
Once the timer is set for either of these options, your chats will go away for good. But the messaging app wants to make the tool even more effective by letting them disappear in one hour or even 12 hours if needed in some cases.
But as you can see in the clips, WhatsApp will inform the users that if you want the chats to disappear in one hour, chances are the person might not have even read it. You can either cancel the timer or accept the logic behind offering this option.
The WhatsApp Android beta 2.25.24.18 is the source of this new option but the platform has not yet opened up its access to all beta testers. We have often felt that 24 hour being the first timer limit never felt the right way to start the feature. And now, one hour feels a little too short. WhatsApp should maybe consider having the option to customise the time limits rather than have pre-fixed duration.
WhatsApp is adding new use cases for its AI-powered features and now the messaging app looks to help you with improving the chats. The latest tool comes in the form of writing help, and as the name suggests, it will offer better tone and style for your chats before you send it to a friend or family.
The AI model will write the messages in different contexts and tones like Rephrase, Professional, Funny and Proofread. You don’t have to edit all the messages using AI and have the option to send the original version as you have been doing for years.
