Samsung says it received over 210,000 pre-orders for its Galaxy Z Fold7, Z Flip7, and the Z Flip7 FE within just 48 hours of launch.

The Galaxy Z Fold7, Samsung India’s latest flagship foldable smartphone, has witnessed overwhelming demand, leading to stockouts in several major markets across the country. The company said the unprecedented interest in its seventh-generation foldable line-up has outpaced expectations, with efforts underway at its Noida facility to ramp up production.
The South Korean electronics giant, which leads India’s consumer electronics market, in a statement said it received over 210,000 pre-orders for its Galaxy Z Fold7, Z Flip7, and the Z Flip7 FE within just 48 hours of launch — a new record for Samsung foldables in India. This strong consumer response is being viewed as a clear signal of the foldable form factor’s rapid move into the smartphone mainstream.
“We would like to thank India’s tech-savvy consumers for giving the Galaxy Z Fold7 a blockbuster start,” said Raju Pullan, senior vice-president (MX business) of Samsung India. “We are aware that many markets in the country are facing a shortfall due to huge demand. We are working overtime to ensure adequate supplies of our most advanced smartphone.”
Retailers across the country are echoing the sentiment. Nilesh Gupta, director at Vijay Sales, said many of their top outlets have already run out of stock. “Samsung’s seventh generation of foldable smartphones, especially the Galaxy Z Fold7, has been performing exceptionally well across our stores. The customer response has been extraordinary.”
Sandeep Singh Jolly, COO at Electronics Mart India Ltd (Bajaj Electronics), said their flagship stores in key cities have seen a surge in demand. “It’s evident that customers are thrilled with the innovation and premium experience the device offers.”
Uvaraj Natarajan, CEO of Poorvika Mobiles, said, “Galaxy Z Fold7 has been a great success with a fabulous response across regions. Stocks are getting liquidated as soon as they arrive.”
Samsung is pitching the Galaxy Z Fold7 as its smartest and most advanced smartphone yet. Running on One UI 8, the Fold7 integrates deeply with AI tools, including Google’s Gemini Live, allowing users to share screens with the assistant and get contextual help. Samsung has also introduced Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP), which adds app-specific secure storage for better data privacy, according to the statement.
The Fold7 is also the lightest and slimmest in the series so far, weighing just 215 grams, and measuring 8.9 mm when folded and 4.2 mm when unfolded. The device is available in four colour options: Blue Shadow, Silver Shadow, Mint, and Jet Black.
Upgrades in Design and Power
Samsung has upgraded almost every key component in the Fold7. Its Armor FlexHinge features a refined water droplet design and a new multi-rail structure that reduces visible creasing. The cover display is protected by Corning’s new Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, and the frame uses stronger Armor Aluminum for improved durability, the company said in the statement.
Inside, the device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor, delivering significant performance gains — a 41% boost in NPU, 38% in CPU, and 26% in GPU — over the previous generation. This allows more advanced AI processing directly on the device, it added.
Another major highlight is the 200MP wide-angle camera, a first for the Galaxy Z series, which promises four times more detail and up to 44% brighter images, backed by Samsung’s next-gen ProVisual Engine.
