Cheteshwar Pujara announced his retirement from Test cricket (all forms of Indian cricket) on August 24, 2025. The 37-year-old right-handed batter last played a red-ball match for India in June 2023 against Australia at The Oval in London during the 2023 WTC final. Pujara finished his career with 7195 runs in 103 Test matches for India. Many of Pujara’s former teammates could soon follow his path and announce their retirement from international cricket in the coming months after not getting a chance to play for India in the last couple of years.
