Jharsuguda, an industrial hub in western Odisha known for coal, aluminium, and thermal power industries, will now be directly connected to Bhubaneswar, the state’s administrative and IT centre. This connection is expected to support both economic growth and ease of travel within the state.
Bookings for the Bhubaneswar–Jharsuguda route are now open on Star Air’s official website and other travel platforms.
Star Air’s Chief Commercial Officer, Shilpa Bhatia, said, “We are delighted to launch our services from Bhubaneswar, further expanding our footprint in eastern India. This new route between Jharsuguda and Bhubaneswar not only enhances intra-state connectivity in Odisha but also supports the growing demand for affordable and convenient regional travel.”
The flights will be operated with Embraer E175 aircraft, offering 2×2 seating in business and economy class. Passengers can expect on-board hot meals and beverages, maintaining Star Air’s standard for comfort and service.
This new route is part of Star Air’s broader strategy to expand beyond UDAN 5.0 routes and reach more commercial destinations. A participant in the Government of India’s UDAN initiative, the airline has completed six years of operations, flying nearly 1.5 million passengers across 300 weekly flights.
