French apparel group Damartex reported an 8 per cent revenue decline to €98.6 million (~$110.68 million) in Q1 FY27 amid hot weather and weak consumer confidence.

The group prioritised profitability and operational discipline without disclosing quarterly profit or margin figures.
Fashion division faces delayed autumn-winter purchases
Fashion division revenue decreased 7.7 per cent on a reported basis, or 7.9 per cent at constant currency, to €74.4 million (~$83.51 million). Damart sales declined 8.4 per cent on a reported basis, as customers postponed purchases of its key autumn-winter collection. The brand’s store network nevertheless remained resilient, indicating continued customer attachment to physical retail.
Damart had entered supermarkets for the first time from October with a range developed specifically for that channel. The brand is also expanding in France and Belgium’s tender market, offering technical textile ranges for professions including public security and defence, Damartex said in a press release.
Xandres generated revenue of €11.0 million (~$12.35 million), down 3.4 per cent. Its premium positioning provided relative resilience, while in-store sales showed positive momentum. The brand plans to continue expanding in the Netherlands and Germany in the coming quarters.
Home and healthcare businesses decline
Home & Lifestyle revenue fell 11.1 per cent on a reported basis, or 11.5 per cent at constant currency, to €17.2 million (~$19.31 million). Coopers of Stortford sales declined 12.6 per cent, while 3Pagen revenue fell 9.9 per cent, as pressure on household purchasing power continued to weigh on spending.
Santéol sales decreased 3.4 per cent, as heatwaves led some patients to reduce treatment time, lowering compliance and billing. Almadia sales fell 5.2 per cent during the quarter, although its September revenue was stable YoY.
Damartex prioritises profitability and portfolio focus
Recurring climatic and geopolitical instability has reinforced Damartex’s prudent approach to managing its activities. The group is pursuing tighter operational control through its Drive to perform, Care to transform 2030 roadmap, which seeks to improve portfolio coherence, strengthen the balance sheet and direct investment towards higher-value activities.
