Gowda reviewed the readiness of the corridor during a trial run on September 2 from Jayadeva Station to Kalena Agrahara. BJP MP Tejaswi Surya and MLA M Krishnappa were among the people who accompanied the minister during the inspection.
Taking to X, Gowda wrote, “The 7.5-km Kalena Agrahara–Tavarekere stretch of Bengaluru’s Pink Line is ready for inauguration and will soon be open to the public. We are hopeful of receiving a date from the Government of India in September.”

Bengaluru Pink Line route, fare
The Pink Line is a significant addition to the Namma Metro network. It is expected to provide an alternative transport option to commuters travelling along Bannerghatta Road and surrounding areas.
The 21.3 km line connects Kalena Agrahara in the south to Nagawara in the north. Of the route, 7.5 km is elevated, while 13.8 km runs underground, connecting key areas such as MG Road, Shivajinagar, Tannery Road, and Dairy Circle.
The project has faced several delays over the years. Earlier, Gowda had said that the Pink Line would open in August this year. He had claimed that the stretch from Tavarekere to Nagawara was to be completed in March 2027, according to The Hindu.
As of now, there are no details on the fare of the Bengaluru Pink Line. The Namma Metro hiked metro fares in February this year. Under the revised charges, the fare for the 0-2 km slab (Fare Zone 1) was increased from ₹10 to ₹11, according to India Today.
Similarly, the maximum fare for distances above 30 km (Fare Zone 10) rose from ₹90 to ₹95.As of now, the Pink Line is awaiting safety and rolling stock clearances and approval from the Centre. Once those are obtained, the Kalena Agrahara-Tavarekere section is expected to begin passenger services.
