The Yatra has been halted as a precautionary measure in view of the red and orange alert warning of heavy rainfall, they said.
Landslides have hit the route of the yatra following heavy rainfall.
The administration has directed local authorities to ensure that no pilgrim is allowed to proceed in view of the inclement weather.
Amarnath, Vaishno Devi and Shiv Khori yatras for second straight day
In another development, pilgrimages to the Amarnath cave shrine, Mata Vaishno Devi and Shiv Khori in Jammu and Kashmir remained suspended for the second consecutive day on Monday due to heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions. Authorities have advised pilgrims to stay at base camps and lodging centres, with no fresh movement towards the shrines being allowed until further notice.
The administration has halted the Amarnath Yatra from Jammu, Udhampur and Ramban towards Srinagar, leaving hundreds of devotees stranded at various base camps across the Union Territory. The Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrimage from Katra and the Shiv Khori Yatra in Reasi district have also been suspended, with shrine boards urging devotees to postpone their travel in view of safety concerns.
The suspension follows continuous rainfall and cloudbursts reported in parts of Kashmir since Sunday.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast moderate to widespread rainfall across Jammu and Kashmir from July 19 to 24, and officials said the pilgrimage routes will reopen only after weather conditions improve and safety assessments are completed.
