According to the IMD, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall is likely over Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir from July 18 to July 22, while Uttarakhand is likely to receive fairly widespread to widespread rainfall from July 17 to July 22.
The weather office has also forecast isolated very heavy rainfall over Himachal Pradesh during July 19-22, Uttarakhand during July 18-21, and Jammu & Kashmir on July 21.

Separately, the IMD has said that a fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect northwest India from July 19.
What the IMD Says
The IMD says the forecast heavy rainfall could lead to localised flooding of roads, waterlogging in low-lying areas, occasional reduction in visibility, disruption of traffic, minor damage to kutcha roads, damage to vulnerable structures, and localised landslides, mudslides, landslips, mudslips, landsinks and mudsinks. It has advised people to check for traffic congestion before leaving for their destination, follow traffic advisories, avoid areas that frequently experience waterlogging, and avoid staying in vulnerable structures.
The weather office has also issued a low to moderate flash flood risk over a few watersheds and neighbouring areas in Uttarakhand during the next 24 hours. The districts covered are Almora, Bageshwar, Chamoli, Champawat, Dehradun, Nainital, Pauri Garhwal, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag, Tehri Garhwal and Uttarkashi. The IMD says surface runoff or inundation may occur in saturated soils and low-lying areas due to the expected rainfall.
