According to a News18 report, while the new toll rates have been notified at over 50 toll plazas across Punjab and Haryana, the following seven toll plazas will see an increase starting today:
Ghulal Toll Plaza (Chandigarh–Kharar–Ludhiana, NH-05)
Paind Toll Plaza (Sangrur–Dogal Kalan, NH-52)
Kot Karor Toll Plaza (Amritsar–Tarn Taran–Harike–Faridkot–Bathinda, NH-15)
Ladowal Toll Plaza (Ludhiana-Jalandhar section)
Jandiala Guru Toll Plaza (Amritsar stretch)
Abohar Toll Plaza
Maur Toll Plaza
The increased toll rates range in each case from ₹5 to ₹10 for private cars, although the return trips will cost up to ₹15 more. Commercial vehicles like buses and trucks will also have to pay at least ₹15 more as highway toll.
The revisions are part of a regular exercise to account for inflation. Such revisions are carried out at different times of the year depending on the concession agreements governing individual toll plazas.
