The service, developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs and the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, will begin operations on Friday, May 15.
According to DMRC, the shuttle buses will connect Central Secretariat and Seva Teerth Metro stations with key government offices and locations in the Central Vista zone, including Kartavya Bhawan, Vigyan Bhawan, Nirman Bhawan, Akbar Road, Baroda House, National Stadium, the National Gallery of Modern Art, India Gate, and Seva Teerth Metro Station.
The project uses two hydrogen fuel cell buses provided by Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL). Each bus has a seating capacity of 35 passengers and is equipped with GPS tracking and CCTV systems for monitoring, safety, and route management.
The buses will operate on weekdays from Monday to Friday, excluding gazetted holidays, during two peak-hour slots—8:30 am to 12:30 pm and 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm. They will run at a frequency of 30 minutes, with one bus operating clockwise and the other anti-clockwise along the designated route.
Passengers will be able to pay fares using National Common Mobility Cards (NCMC), UPI, or cash. Ticket fares have been set at ₹10 and ₹15, depending on distance.
DMRC will handle operations, ticketing, and passenger services, while IOCL will provide drivers and hydrogen fuel supply.
The corporation said the initiative is aimed at encouraging the use of public transport, reducing dependence on private vehicles, and supporting the adoption of cleaner energy technologies in urban transport.
