New Delhi Metro Station to carry ixigo branding under new agreement

Travel technology platform ixigo has acquired branding rights for New Delhi Metro Station as part of a transit media marketing initiative aimed at increasing visibility among daily commuters and intercity travellers.

Under the agreement, the station will be referred to as “ixigo New Delhi Metro Station” across select on-ground branding placements. The initiative also includes in-metro audio announcements such as “The next station is New Delhi, ixigo” and “Agla station New Delhi, ixigo hai,” integrating the brand into commuter information systems.

New Delhi Metro Station is a major interchange in the Delhi Metro network, connecting the Yellow Line and Airport Express Line. It also provides access to New Delhi Railway Station (Ajmeri Gate side) and offers connectivity to Indira Gandhi International Airport terminals T2 and T3, along with key commercial and tourist areas including Connaught Place. The station records high passenger traffic due to its role as a central transit hub in the capital.
Dinesh Kumar Kotha, CEO of ixigo Trains and ConfirmTkt, said the station plays a key role in daily mobility across the region. He added that the initiative is intended to position ixigo within key travel touchpoints and align with the company’s expansion into metro ticketing services, including QR-based bookings for Delhi Metro and Mumbai Metro.

The company stated that the branding exercise is part of its broader strategy to integrate digital travel services with physical transit infrastructure, aiming to improve visibility during key travel decision points.

ixigo operates as a travel technology platform offering services across train, flight, bus and hotel bookings through its consumer applications, including ixigo, ConfirmTkt and AbhiBus.
