Apple’s Siri AI launch faces new glitches, and it seems the wait might go a little longer than we thought after a recent report suggested the release is getting close. Siri AI was part of the big iPhone 16 event teaser with its Glow Time tag but that never came out.

And after earlier mentioning that the Siri AI rollout could happen with iOS 26.4 update, Bloomberg suggests people might have to lower their expectations and wait till at least iOS 26.5 and 26.7 versions.

The details about possible Siri AI launch were revealed in an iOS 26 internal build, suggesting Apple could announce the assistant around the Spring time. But Apple is now more inclined to push the release to later this year, which means the upcoming iOS 26 beta might not have the big Siri surprise for iPhone users.

We still don’t know the reason for this delay but like every other rumour around the Siri launch, we suggest you take this with a pinch of salt, at least until Apple officially talks about its plans.

More Delays For Siri

Siri is becoming a problem for Apple, and it continues to struggle with making it work through the AI model. Apple says it found Gemini to be the most capable foundation for its future AI plans. The company is going to use Gemini AI for its own features but the company is going to be building and running them through its own AI data servers and private cloud compute system which ensures that all the user data remains private as always.

Google was supposed to be the supplier of the AI model for Apple and the company will reportedly be charged around $1 billion per year to make the model as per its design, specifications and other parameters. But a recent earnings call from Google suggests Apple is fully relying on making Siri AI work and these will be running through Google cloud servers itself.

Siri is a big bet for Apple, especially with its AI race not taking off fast enough to challenge OpenAI and Google among others. This version of Siri is supposed to give you conversational and a personalised assistant built over the Gemini AI custom model.
