Apple launched the iPhone 16e in February last year and history could repeat again with the iPhone 17e also tipped to be announced sometime this month in the market. And a new report this week has shed more light on the supposed iPhone 17e launch date which could be February 19, just a few weeks from now.

The details from MacWorld in its new report has suggested this date, which is the same as the iPhone 16e launch, and the pre-orders started a few days later. iPhone 17e is likely to replace the 16e as the most affordable in the Apple lineup and the company will be hoping the new version fares better than the first model.

The launch timeline doesn’t feel out of place because the iPhone 17e mass production stage is almost here, at least going by another report that came out last month. If the new date checks out officially, we could see both Google and Apple fighting out with their respective mid-range devices in the market.

Earlier leaks say the iPhone 17e will debut in the first half of the year (2026), and the main focus of this device will be the display. This also means we might see the same single camera setup offered with the 17e model once again. 

You should also not expect premium features like ProMotion 120Hz display on the 17e, as it will continue to support the standard 60Hz refresh rate on the regular 6.1-inch OLED panel. 

Having said that, the iPhone 17e will not be lacking in performance with the use of an A19 chipset, probably with 12GB RAM to make AI features run smoothly. This could easily make the iPhone 17e as powerful as the Android flagships that cost well over Rs 1 lakh in the market. The post also refers to the support of Face ID for biometric security like all the models since iPhone X. 

Apple launched the iPhone 16e for Rs 59,900 in India for the 128GB base model. Looking at the prices of phones launched in the last few months, we could see the iPhone 17e priced around Rs 65,000 while keeping it in the same range for the global markets.
