Apple is bringing Siri AI with the help of Google’s Gemini AI model. The iPhone maker has chosen Google to be its AI partner that will be offering new Apple Intelligence features and most likely have a lot to do with the Siri version.

When the news broke, most people were worried about Apple’s need to run these platforms through Google’s servers, which has been reportedly quashed by Apple through recent statements. However, Google’s own senior executives, including CEO Sundar Pichai had something completely to say on this matter.

Apple Or Google: Who’s Telling The Truth?

Pichai was speaking during a recent earnings call and said, “We are collaborating with Apple as their preferred cloud provider and to develop the next generation of Apple Foundation Models, based on Gemini technology.” This statement is quite different from what reports have mentioned in the last few months since the Apple-Google deal was made public through media reports.

More importantly, it also contradicts what Apple chief Tim Cook said during their own earnings call, and highlighted that the Gemini-powered Siri and AI will be run through its private cloud compute system which eased the privacy concerns for millions of iPhone users. Cook assured that all of the AI features from the company will be processed on-device with the help of its private cloud compute setup.

This meant even if you use the Gemini AI version of Siri, Apple was handling the data, and gave no rights to Google which was a relief for millions.

But Pichai saying it will be run through Google cloud server has people confused about who is telling the truth and we can’t say that for a certain, until either of these companies publicly share the details of this special AI deal.

Either way, Apple’s bid to get Siri AI off the ground could get an early teaser in February, according to a new report. The company’s reported deal with Google to use a custom Gemini AI model to power its assistant is likely to be part of the iOS 26.4 update which is expected to roll out latest by March or April this year.
