India remains among top visitor markets for Singapore with 1.2 million arrivals in 2025


India continued to be one of Singapore’s most significant source markets for tourism in 2025, with more than 1.2 million Indian visitors travelling to the city-state during the year, according to data released by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB).

The figure represents a marginal increase of around 1% compared to 2024 and reinforces India’s position as a key contributor to Singapore’s inbound travel. Overall, Singapore recorded 16.9 million international visitor arrivals in 2025, a growth of 2.3% year-on-year.

Tourism receipts also showed an upward trend. Singapore’s global tourism earnings reached S$23.9 billion in the first three quarters of 2025, up 6.5% from the previous year. Spending by Indian travellers accounted for S$1.17 billion during the same period, marking a 5% increase year-on-year, STB said.
The growth coincided with the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Singapore in 2025. To mark the milestone, STB rolled out a year-long campaign titled ‘Just Between Us Friends’, which involved partnerships with airlines, travel agencies and retail players to offer targeted deals for Indian travellers. The initiative also extended to the meetings and incentives segment, with special privileges for Indian corporate groups travelling between August 2025 and March 2026.

STB also entered into its first memorandum of understanding with an Indian airline, IndiGo, in July 2025 to boost leisure and business travel, particularly from non-metro cities. The partnership aimed to improve connectivity and promote new travel experiences across Singapore.

One of the major highlights of the year was the hosting of the largest Indian corporate incentive group in Singapore, with over 6,000 employees of Sun Pharma visiting the country, underscoring Singapore’s positioning as a leading destination for large-scale corporate travel.

Beyond arrivals, Singapore added several new attractions in 2025, including Rainforest Wild at Mandai Wildlife Reserve, Singapore Oceanarium at Resorts World Sentosa and Jurassic World: The Experience at Gardens by the Bay. The city also expanded its cruise offerings with new homeported ships and maintained a packed calendar of international events such as ART SG and the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix.

Looking ahead to 2026, STB said it plans to deepen engagement with Indian travellers through targeted campaigns for younger and family audiences, while also expanding partnerships with travel intermediaries and strengthening business events outreach.
