OnePlus 10 Pro users have been given their surprising Android 16 update by the company, now rolling out for the global variants. The word surprising is apt because during the launch, many expected the phone to get a total of 3 Android OS upgrades, which ended with the Android 15-based OxygenOS 15 version.

But out of the blue, OnePlus decided to give one more Android update which is the 16 version of OxygenOS 16. The news has been confirmed via community post this week, and informed that OnePlus 10 Pro users are getting this upgrade.

OnePlus offers the app drawer flexibility where you can choose the iOS-style layout or the regular Android swipe to move layers. The search bar is now at the bottom of the screen. The liquid glass elements are once again evident in the clips but its use has been limited to select apps for now.

The company is bringing the OxygenOS 16 update for the OnePlus 10 Pro in India first and then offering it for more regions in the coming weeks. The new OxygenOS version has got a sleek design UI overhaul along with new features that actually benefit from the Plus key introduced with the latest OnePlus phones since the 13s model.

We are not sure how these features will work on the 10 Pro, but the Gemini support should be available along with the other in-house AI tools from the company. OnePlus 10 Pro was launched in March 2022 and the recent update policy means these users get one more year to continue using their device.

OnePlus 10 Pro Specifications

The 10 Pro comes with a 6.7-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a QHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The display allows the OnePlus 10 Pro to automatically adjust its refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz.

The smartphone is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. The smartphone has a 5,000mAh battery that comes with 80W SuperVOOC fast charging technology. OnePlus had launched the 10 Pro in India for Rs 66,999 which made it one of the more value-for-money flagships in the market.
