Carl Grebert, the long-serving vice president and general manager for the EMEA region, is retiring after nearly 30 years with Nike. César Garcia has been named as the new VP/GM of EMEA, effective February 2, 2026. He has been with Nike for almost 25 years and brings deep cross-regional leadership experience, including roles across Asia Pacific, Latin America, Global Running, and Western Europe.
Nike announced leadership changes across three regions.
Carl Grebert is retiring as EMEA VP/GM, with César Garcia succeeding him from February 2026.
In Greater China, Angela Dong will depart in March 2026, replaced by Cathy Sparks.
Following Sparks’ move, Cristin Campbell will serve as Interim VP/GM of APLA while Nike searches for a permanent successor.
Angela Dong, who has led Greater China for over two decades and overseen major milestones such as the Beijing Olympics and digital expansion, will step down from her role and leave Nike, effective March 31, 2026, the company said in a press release.
Cathy Sparks, a 25-year Nike veteran, will assume the role of VP/GM of Greater China. She previously led the Asia Pacific & Latin America region (APLA) and is tasked with rebuilding momentum and strengthening Nike’s connection with sport and culture in China.
With Cathy Sparks moving to Greater China, Cristin Campbell, current VP of Nike Brand for APLA and leader of the region’s Sport Offense strategy, will serve as Interim VP/GM of APLA and join Nike’s senior leadership team. Nike is expected to identify a long-term successor for this role.
