Samsung could finally give you less of the crease this year

Samsung has showcased its unique crease-less display panel at the CES 2026 in Las Vegas earlier this month it seems the company could use a similar tech for its next foldable this year. A new report claims Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 could finally get a smaller crease than the previous versions which has been a sticking point for many as the display folds inwards. Samsung’s new Fold model could see the crease reduced by around 20 percent which will probably become clear once you see the actual product.

Samsung’s Next Fold Evolution

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 showed Samsung being serious about its ambitions in the segment and giving us the thinnest and lightest Fold model till date. Now, it is time for the company to push the envelope further and showcase its display prowess like no other brand has been able to so far.

Foldable screens have tried their best to remove the crease over the last few years but most have only managed to reduce its level. Samsung did show a demo version of its new panel recently that has no crease whatsoever. Will that be used for the Fold 8 series this year, we are not sure but any change in the level of crease will be seen as a big upgrade, especially if the durability is not taking a hit.

We also hope Samsung can finally adopt the silicon carbon grade battery tech which can elevate the overall experience and give it more longevity between charges.

Prior to that, Samsung will be all hands on deck for the Galaxy S26 series launch at the next Unpacked event which is tipped for February end this year, a little delayed compared to the Galaxy S25 series launch last year.

The company will also have the stage to talk about the new One UI 8.5 version which reports say will have a new-look Bixby AI assistant powered by Perplexity across web and mobile apps for on-device privacy.
