The social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, experienced widespread outages on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, affecting thousands of users across multiple countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada.
Outage-tracking website Downdetector showed a sharp spike in problem reports related to X on Tuesday, indicating a widespread disruption. At the time of filing this report, some features on the platform, including Lists, were not accessible, while other functions loaded intermittently. X had not issued an official statement explaining the cause of the outage.
