iPhone Fold launch in 2026 looks imminent and a new leaked design render of the product shows us a familiar look.
Apple’s first foldable could be pricey and premium
Apple could copy Google to make one of its upcoming products. Yes, you are reading right. The iconic brand making iPhones is going to be inspired by Google’s first foldable in the market, for its own first iPhone Fold model in 2026.
This tip has come via a recent leaked video where you can see the design renders for the rumoured iPhone foldable, which seemingly looks a lot like the Pixel Fold model that Google introduced a few years back. The company is tipped to make a book-style foldable, something that Google and Microsoft used for their Pixel and Surface Book models.
iPhone’s Fold Era: How It Will Look?
The leaked design from a YouTube video shows the book-style iPhone Fold model with a compact screen on the cover that reminds you of the first Pixel Fold device. However, when you step inside, the inner foldable screen has a near crease-less panel, which most brands have found difficult to offer.
The edges are also rounded on the iPhone version which is probably not ideal but something that tipsters suggest Apple could adopt. Talking numbers, the iPhone Fold is rumoured to feature a 5.5-inch cover and a 7.8-inch inner display. In addition to the crease, the Apple foldable could have a flatter body but 4.5mm thick when it is unfolded.
The foldable is expected to come with a dual rear camera system which will be surprising, but the device will be powered by A20 chipset and also get Touch ID (not Face ID) for biometric security.
Apple iPhones have been costlier than before and we expect the first foldable to be a premium product from the brand. Will it be priced as high as the Vision pro headset, not really. But you should expect the iPhone Fold to be pricier than most foldables available in the market these days.
Apple should be unveiling the foldable along with the 18 series next year but another report suggests the company could delay its sale to early 2027 which means further wait to see the exciting product on shelves.
