Samsung Galaxy S26 series launch is usually expected in the early parts of the year but a new report suggests the company could push its event to mid-February and that is likely to have an impact on the Galaxy S26 Ultra release date in the market in 2026. The details coming from South Korea suggests the company could be eyeing a later launch next year and we’re not really surprised hearing about the news.
Samsung has been in two minds about overhauling its lineup, with some even hinted at a new Pro model to sit alongside the Edge version. But the brand seems to have gone back to the drawing board and decided to continue with the current models.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Release Delayed: When Will It Hit The Markets?
The fact that Galaxy S26 Ultra and other models won’t be announced till mid-February means the sale of the new devices could be further pushed to the end of the month or even early March next year. Samsung might time its own unveiling close to the MWC 2026 in Barcelona, something the brand has done many times before and we could see it happen once again.
The launch delay has also been attributed to the last minute decisions around the use of chipset for the new flagships. Samsung recently introduced its Exynos 2600 SoC family which many are tipping to be at the forefront of the new premium series.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra could once again go for the high-end Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. But more importantly, with the ongoing memory chip demand and price hikes, the brand will have to consider the higher cost of making the product and also selling them at a reasonable price to compete with the current and the future iPhone models.
In addition to this, Samsung is also reportedly working on a new wide foldable device which could be announced close to the supposed iPhone Fold debut later next year. It says the model will feature a 7.6-inch inner screen along with a smaller 5.4-inch cover display. The wider profile means you have a passport-like design with 4:3 aspect ratio.
