iPhone users are seeing red ahead of Christmas next week and that’s not ideally a good thing in this case. Many have noticed a strange bug after the iOS 26 update on the Photos app and their images have a strange red tint filter applied without actually changing any settings. Things get weirder because the redness is also seen in the images when using the Photos app and the original version shows its natural colours.

So when you scroll through the gallery and see these images, the red tint doesn’t appear. This is clearly a bug which affects the Apple Photos app with the iOS 26 version.

Red Photos But Can You Fix It?

The Photos app bug is acting strange with images, thinking that users have applied some red coloured filter on them. Apple has not addressed the issue but thankfully there seems to be an easy fix for the red photo bug in iOS 26 and you can do it without any technical assistance.

If you notice the same red photos issue with the Photos app, just open the image, click on Edit and tap on Revert which should remove the red colour filter and give you the photo in its original tone.

There is a definite link to the red colour bug which seems to be transmitting from images that were taken on non-iPhones and that’s why the Photos app needs a better colour tuning to fix the red mess. People with issues understanding colour could find this a challenge but Apple quickly needs to fix the problem before it creates further issues for iPhone users.

The company has rolled out the iOS 26.3 beta update this week is still fairly nascent so the feature list is quite limited but we expect that to change in the next few weeks before its supposed January 2026 release for all iPhone users.

But one of them could be the new and easy way to transfer data between Android and iOS devices and vice versa. These tech companies have been forced to change their stance towards each other after the regular grilling and laws imposed by the European Union (EU) regulators and more people are reaping the fruits of those efforts.
