iPhone 17 price in India is going to increase, is that true?

iPhone 17 had launched in India for Rs 82,900 but recently it was mentioned that Apple plans to hike the prices of its base model by up to Rs 7,000. In fact, rumours hinted that the company could make the iPhone 17 price change in December 2025 but now those concerns can be more or less put to rest.

The chances of Apple increasing the iPhone 17 price in India has been claimed to be fake news and the company has no plans to hike the iPhone 17 price in the country anytime soon. 

In fact, the company is having a hard time managing the demand for the base iPhone 17 model in the country and is struggling to supply in time. These trends probably suggested Apple could increase the price to handle the situation.

The new iPhone 17 has got reasonable upgrades this year, which includes a 120Hz ProMotion display, a better main camera and an even better front camera. You also get 256GB as the base model which somehow made people feel excited for the regular iPhone in the country, as much as the 17 Pro models. 

Besides the high demand, the other reason for Apple to consider iPhone 17 price hike would have been the fluctuating currency value which has a direct impact on the prices of these products and Apple has done this before.

More importantly, the ongoing demand for memory to run AI is being heavily attributed to cause a major jump in component prices and Apple will either have to absorb the cost or invariably pass it onto the consumer. Which is why the bank offer could one way to offset the price hike and still tempt people to upgrade to the new iPhone 17 model.

Apple discontinued the iPhone Plus moniker this year in favour of the premium iPhone Air model that hasn’t done as per expectations, but reports say the iPhone Air 2 will be coming and it will have some useful changes, including a lower price tag when it launches sometime around early 2027 in the market.
