Apple users have got another scary update from the Indian government which concerns iPhones, Macs, iPads and more.

iPhone 17 users are being warned about a major security risk by the Indian government. People using the latest iPhone 16 and older models will be rightly worried and the new details from the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) tells us what the issue is and what Apple is doing to secure its devices.

But the security warning is not just confined to the iPhone users, and the iPadOS version running on various iPad models are also in the firing line. 

Critical Hacking Threat For iPhone And Mac Users 

The CERT-In bulletin dated December 16, 2025 comes with a high severity rating and explains the risk posed to iPhone and iPad users and how they can secure their devices. “Multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in Apple Products which could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code, gain elevated privileges, disclose sensitive information, bypass security restrictions or can cause denial of service conditions on the targeted system.” 

The full details for the issues affecting these users have been highlighted in the security bulletin from CERT-In. The definite takeaway from the issues is that all individuals running the affected iOS, iPadOS, macOS and tvOS versions are at risk of being hacked.

  • Apple iOS and iPadOS version prior to 26.2
  • Apple iOS and iPadOS version prior 18.7.3
  • Apple macOS Tahoe version prior 26.2
  • Apple macOS Sequoia version prior 15.7.3
  • Apple macOS Sonoma version prior 14.8.3
  • Apple tvOS version prior 26.2
  • Apple watchOS version prior 26.2
  • Apple visionOS version prior 26.2
  • Apple Safari version prior 26.2

The worrying news is that it includes almost every iPhone and iPad user out there. And the good news is that the security agency and Apple are aware of who is at risk because of the new issue. 

Apple already knows about the vulnerability and has offered updates for the mentioned devices and platforms. All you have to do is go to Settings – General – Software update to install the new update and secure your devices.
