UP’s 15th Vande Bharat train to begin operations from December 9: Check details

Uttar Pradesh will introduce its 15th Vande Bharat service from December 9, marking another significant milestone in the state’s fast-evolving rail infrastructure. At present, 14 Vande Bharat trains operate across Uttar Pradesh, linking more than 20 cities and considerably improving travel efficiency. These semi-high-speed services have become a mainstay of modern rail travel in the state, reducing journey time, enhancing passenger comfort and offering world-class amenities.

The newest addition to this network will run between Gomtinagar and Saharanpur. Operated and maintained by the Northern Railway zone, the service is designed to elevate the travel experience with its upgraded interiors, advanced safety systems and reduced travel duration.

According to officials, the train will commence operations from December 9, followed by its first run from Gomtinagar on December 10. Along its route, it will halt at Daliganj, Sitapur, Shahjahanpur, Bareilly, Moradabad, Najibabad and Roorkee, connecting a string of key commuter and commercial hubs.

Uttar Pradesh has played a major role in the rollout of the Vande Bharat fleet across the country. It became the first state to receive a Vande Bharat service, beginning on the Varanasi-New Delhi route, which quickly gained popularity due to its shorter journey time and superior onboard experience.

Since then, the network has broadened significantly. Today, passengers can travel on services such as the Rani Kamlapati-Nizamuddin Vande Bharat, the Anand Vihar Terminal-Dehradun Vande Bharat, and the Gorakhpur-Prayagraj Vande Bharat, contributing to smoother inter-city connectivity.

The state’s extensive list includes the Varanasi-New Delhi return service that bolstered capacity on the high-demand corridor, the Ayodhya-Anand Vihar Terminal Vande Bharat, the Patna-Gomti Nagar Vande Bharat, and the Ranchi–Banaras Vande Bharat. Additional links such as the Lucknow-Dehradun Vande Bharat and the Meerut City-Lucknow connection have strengthened access between administrative centres. The train is also operated on the Udaipur-Agra Cantt Vande Bharat route, the Varanasi-Deoghar Vande Bharat route, the Agra Cantt–Banaras route and most recent Gorakhpur–Patliputra Vande Bharat service.
