The health tool was first introduced during the iPhone 17 launch event but limited to the US market and now people using the Watch Series 9 or later models are able to make use of the new health option.

Apple’s Hypertension Alert: What It Does
“Hypertension notifications on Apple Watch use data from the optical heart sensor to analyze how a user’s blood vessels respond to the beats of the heart,” as Apple has explained in a post. The Watch will keep a track of the activities over a 30-day period and inform the user if there is an irregular pattern over that time.
If it works as effectively as the heart rate sensor, Apple has a critical tool on board its wearable. Apple is bringing the feature via an update on the Watch Series 9 and later models, Watch Ultra 2 and later that are powered by watchOS 26 version. You can set it up within the Apple Health app where it will seek your details including age, because you need to be 22 years or older to use the feature.
