Vivo X300 has launched in India making it one of the new compact flagship phones in the market with solid camera credentials. When Vivo announced the X300 price, most people would have compared it with the new OnePlus 15 or the iQOO 15 but iPhone 17 is the obvious competition, not because of the price tag but the overall feature set that makes it a quality option in the Rs 75,000 to Rs 85,000 price range.
Both phones have quality displays, the design is premium and the cameras are versatile. But which one of these is better and which one should people consider buying, we give the details.

Vivo X300 price in India starts at Rs 75,999 for the base 12GB + 256GB variant, while the iPhone 17 India price starts from Rs 82,999 for the 256GB model. The higher 12GB + 512GB and 16GB + 512GB variants of Vivo X300 cost Rs 81,999 and Rs 85,999, respectively. The 512GB iPhone 17 is priced in India at Rs 1,02,900.

Vivo X300 is the compact version in the new series but it does not cut back on the premium quality. The frame is made of aluminium alloy and the glass back panel makes up for its high-end focus. It gets IP68 and IP69 rating for better dust and water protection. The phone measures at 8mm and weighs 190 grams.
The iPhone 17 has an aluminium frame with glass back but features Ceramic Shield 2 for the front glass. It also measures at 8mm but weighs 177 grams and only comes with IP68 rating.
The display on the X300 is a 6.31-inch LTPO AMOLED 1B colour display with up to 120Hz refresh rate and 4,500 nits of peak brightness. The iPhone 17 sports a 6.3-inch Super Retina OLED display with ProMotion tech which brings adaptive 120Hz refresh rate to the base variant for the first time.

Vivo X300 is powered by the new MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset with up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. It runs the OriginOS 6 version based on Android 16 out of the box in India this year, and is promising 5 OS upgrades along with 7 years of security patches.
iPhone 17 is getting the A19 chipset with 8GB RAM and up to 512GB storage. It comes with the iOS 26 version out of the box and should get at least 6 more iOS upgrades from Apple.

The X300 has a triple setup that includes a 200MP main sensor with OIS, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens. It has a 50MP front shooter with auto focus. The iPhone 17 continues to go with a dual rear camera setup but this year you have a new 48MP wide and a 48MP ultrawide lens. The front of the iPhone also has got a new 18MP shooter with a different profile.
