Virat Kohli’s 52nd ODI hundred not only left the Ranchi crowd thrilled but also sparked a stir on social media. While his countless fans are already overwhelmed, the Indian cricket fraternity also can’t stop praising the former Indian captain. Yuzvendra Chahal is also among those who rushed to social media and shared a picture with Kohli, praising the stalwart.

Taking to his Instagram account on Sunday, Chahal wrote a couple of poetic lines in Hindi, which read, “Jahan Charche Bade hote hai .. Wahan Virat bhaiya KHADE hote hai (Wherever the conversation gets big, you’ll always find Virat at the centre of it),” also using some fancy emojis like, king’s crown and a goat.

Earlier, Chahal also shared a picture of Rohit Sharma, celebrating his 60th fifty in ODIs.

Kohli’s 135 vs South Africa Make India Fly In Ranchi

At a point in his career where every ODI innings is closely judged, Virat Kohli produced a commanding hundred — his 52nd in the format — to take India to 349/8 in the first ODI against South Africa.

His fluent 135 off 120 balls, including seven sixes and 11 fours, laid the foundation of India’s innings. Kohli and Rohit Sharma added 136 runs for the second wicket, giving India a strong platform on a flat JSCA Stadium pitch. With Kohli now playing only ODIs and India having just a handful of games in the coming months, this knock was a strong reminder of his value.

The RoKo show

Rohit capitalised on his reprieve with boundaries against Jansen and Bosch, while Kohli showcased vintage strokes, including a lofted six over mid-off. South Africa’s inconsistent bowling allowed the pair to dominate. After Rohit fell and quick wickets followed, Kohli steadied the innings, later accelerating with ease. His late assault, especially against Subrayen, and support from KL Rahul (60), highlighted his enduring hunger and class.
